Hello! This is me with my dog Cuilean. He likes to sit on me.. I’m a writer and illustrator based in Glasgow, making picture books that grow from small sparks—friendship, belonging, and the quiet, determined bravery children carry, especially those who see and feel the world a little differently. My work begins in loose, lively marks and layered textures, shaped by the Scottish landscape and the lilt of Gaelic. I love drawing from life, and I have an unshakable fondness for Hallowe’en, spooks, and gentle ghosts who mean well but cause a little chaos. I’ve received incubator funding from The Gaelic Books Council (Comhairle nan Leabhraichean) to develop a Hallowe’en picture book, which I can’t wait to unleash. If you’d like to work with me (I am very nice), please get in touch..
Xx
PS my real name is Kim McClelland but I gained the nickname Kimbobble many moons ago and have aimed to live up to it ever since. I think curly hair and bobbly wool jumpers help.
